Brand new trail races coming to you!
Join us for the inaugural Parhelic Circle Trail Races at the Arizona Nordic Village on July 27-28, 2019. This event is organized by the same folks who bring you the Flagstaff to Grand Canyon Stagecoach Line 100 Mile, 55K, Relays and 100 Mile Mountain Bike Race, and hosts a unique and exciting timed format.
The Parhelic Circle Races include 6-, 12- and 24-hour solo and relay events and an 8K trail race. The races will be held on single-track and two-track ponderosa and aspen lined trails at 8,000 feet high in the Arizona mountains 25 minutes north of downtown Flagstaff.
Make it a weekend by building your team, camping under the cool pines, covering some trail miles, and spending time with other runners around a night time bonfire. The courses range from 8,000 to 8,800 ft in elevation and are run on some of the softest ground you’re likely to find.
The timed solo and relay events start at noon on Saturday July 27th. The 8K begins at 9am on Sunday July 28th.
Register for the 6-, 12-, 24-hour solo and relays here.
Register for Sunday morning’s 8K here.
The course will consist of two separate loops, the Wind Loop and the Peaks View Loop. The Wind loop is smooth and runnable with 524 ft of vertical gain over 7 miles of running. The Peaks View Loop is steeper and has some more technical sections, with 849 ft of gain over 5 miles of running, and will also serve as Sunday’s 8 km race course. Runners and relay teams in the timed events will alternate between the two loops, with all timed races starting with the Wind Loop.
Aid station: The Village
The Arizona Nordic Village will host the party, you bring the people. The Start/Finish area of both loops leaves from behind the main Lodge, and will host the vendors, the aid station, and 24 hours of good times.
The Lodge has restrooms with flushing toilets and coin/token-operated showers. A 30 x 70 pavilion tent will serve as the main aid and recuperation station, with more chairs than you can count and plenty of space to kick your feet up for a while.
We have several sponsorship opportunities available:
